Spent some time collecting my thoughts

coolest character ever and then boom

anyway the knight? Sick design. Was it juts me or did it have those hand details everyone puts on gaster?? also reindeer horns, hmmm

eating lunch, having some lentils chili

so like chapter 3 was super cool, got some chuckles out of me, love the Rouxls polycule

but I feel like I’m missing a lot, like I wasn’t able to get into the s tier door which is really disappointing

I could also see some of the ending being a fake-out bc chapter 4 is like right there, I have the menu open rn like it’s right there

also loved the starwalker appearances

On another break, got some mint tea

bit of the way through chapter 4, about 20ish minutes into the dark world (I think)

light world stuff was pretty long but super cool

loved seeing noelle and susie lezing it up some more

the stuff with the soul was super interesting

noelle’s mom (carol I think her name was) is awesome (she’s the knight ain’t she)

current theory (kinda), the knight’s telling kris what to do, gaster (or whoever) is telling us what to do

also gerson????? he’s here, that’s cool

still miss tenna :( glad he went to mettaton tho, wonder what’ll happen there

so im thinking about it, I think chapter 3 is the quickest I’ve completed any chapter yet, and chapter 4 (so far) is the longest I’ve taken on any of them (not fully sure tho, my memories of chapter 1 are fuzzy bc of concurrent events)

so what im wondering, based on what I’ve seen so far, is if what this is leading towards is that the characters we follow might not be the ones of the prophecy? The pictures of “the girl” don’t look like susie.. like at all, and based on the descriptions from the windows room, they described a snow person, a man with one eye, and something else I don’t rember off the top of my head

makes me think… is noelle’s mom the monster in the prophecy? Bc minus antlers her wielding a sword would line up with the pictures, plus the talk of snow.

Also didn’t comment on it earlier but the among us and homestuck references in noelle’s house?? thanks tobert

also hate the prophecy talkin about a car, pretty sure I heard a theory about something like that… (not that I pay too much mind to theories, im just thinking of the name of one I heard)

oh also I ADORE all the new story and characterization for susie, definitely solidifying her as my favorite character thus far

Hmm, I may be stuck secret hunting, so I found part of a melody in gold, and I recall noting a golden piano when I first passed through some areas, but now I don’t remember how to get to it… plus I found a passage behind a waterfall that leads to a dark area with a vine blocking the way, I feel it has to be for a secret boss.

But I can’t find that goshdarned golden piano!

I tried playing the song on the sheet music on the big homestuck play the wind type organ, but all that did was give some dialogue about susie commenting on it being played differently.

Argh I really wanna find this secret, but no matter where I go I can’t find it

I wonder tho.. do I have to go and play the song on a replay of the chapter? If so im not gonna figure that out for a bit, bc I really wanna walk and see if I can do it now

but if that doesn’t go well, you’ll be hearing from me.

that was so cool

like the animations?? the followup on mechanics from earlier in the chapter?? waow

but also sad? Like that whole ending sequence really tugged at my heart strings, to the point where the stupid sans jokes didn’t even bring me out of it (which part of me feels like an intentional bit of dissonance)

so following up my last entry, despite my best efforts I could not figure out that secret, despite it feel right within my reach. I went back I want to say 3 or 4 times after making incremental progress, but nada. Im convinced I’d have to go back on different file and go find it, but idk if that’s a today activity

but like

idk what to do now

part of me wants to go back online and see what others are saying, but im scared those small things I missed will be right front and center.

At least I got the dog dollar :)

not really sure what else to say here, I probably need some time to collect thoughts

hey chat forgot to make an entry earlier but I’ve been replaying chapter 3 today

I think I found stuff that goes with the “forbidden path” as the game seems to call it

I’ve been going into it a bit since im trying to get the shadow mantle, and afaik this is how you get it

but we’ll see

also I think I’ve figured what I need to do for that chapter 4 secret I spent an hour and a half looking for yesterday, so I’ll try and go for that once I get there

not sure where (if anywhere) I’d go to find the egg for chapter 3, but I’ll keep searching

I didn’t beat the secret bosses from chapters 3 or 4…

could it have been from the titan?

It would at least make it make a bit more sense at to why there’s 9 slots…

welp im gonna go back to replaying chapter 3 I just had to spew info about that

so I found the egg in chapter 3, had to look up a tutorial, that was very complicated and very, very interesting. The man mentioned holding your breath and moving to the left, and that’s an act you can do while fighting the knight… hmm…

8:30 PM:

was talking to a friend (hi waving emoji (if you read this)) and she brought up the idea that there’s an attack during the knight fight where the knight cuts the bullet box and you (might) be able to get out of that, and holding your breath makes you faster that could be what’s being referred to, something to test when I get there.

Also I’ve heard ramblings that there may be another secret boss, and since I haven’t seen that yellow and pink minigame from the trailer I think that may be true…

anyways more important I think ralsei is english (or somewhere near that) bc he said chuffed, and I think susie is from wisconsin bc she keeps referring to fountains as “bubblers” (which is a brand of fountain in wisconsin and nearby areas)

got the furthest I have thus far on the knight fight, giving up now tho. Gonna try it on the forbidden path soon since I’ll be stronger on that one and I should be able to just transfer the shadow crystal.

so I’ve noticed, everytime kris does something on their own they do it with their left hand, whenever the player does something with kris they do it with their right hand, very interesting

forgot to write about them but I went and did the knight fight a few more times after beating it a couple times, and I’ve gotten pretty good at it, enough so that I can just open it up and beat it bc it’s really fun

so something I’ve been thinking about from chapter 4’s ending is susie leaves when she seems to notice that toriel is drunk, and her mood completely shifts, I find it really interesting to think about and kinda hints at her home-life

like I love this game so much it just feels like she has such a real reaction, like I’ve known people in my life who’ve had reactions exactly like that when alcohol is involved so it really hit a chord

anyways, haven’t done the weird route or whatever it’s called for chapter 4 yet, idk if I will atp bc that stuff really freaks me out.

Im gonna go and do chapter 4’s secret boss in a bit bc I still haven’t gotten around to that, will likely write about it when I do

I found a lancer duplication glitch????

so somehow during chapter 3 I got a second lancer, and then going to chapter 4 one of them stayed in my inventory?? gonna send a bug report but that’s really funny

did the light world section, was really uncomfortable, got a little bit through the dark world and quit for now, I’ll see if I continue eventually

im still really rattled by that, I really don’t know if I’ll ever open that back up to finish it

this might be the most a game has made me deeply uncomfortable outside of this one flash game I played over a decade ago that I will not discuss further.

Ugh, I’m really hoping this doesn’t effect my enjoyment of deltarune as a whole bc I really love the rest of the game! Just this one part that makes me feel awful. I’m sure I’ll feel better in a bit but man

making a whole new entry as im writing this blog post

my weird route save remains where i left it in the last entry but i watched some playthroughs to see what happens, very intriguing stuff.

also made me notice deltarune has a lot of stuff to do with hands, like kris biting their hand to stop you from saying bad things, birdly's arm breaking, the ThornRing, and other stuff i can't remember atm.

just really been thinking about all that and how it plays into stuff like playing instruments and especially relating to the wrist issues toby fox has mentioned having, just really making me think

also i submitted a bug report about the lancer duplication thing, they haven't gotten back to me.

but basically what i think happened is i got two lancers from the gumball machine in chapter 3, then for some reason they stayed in my inventory after leaving the room, and upon moving to chapter 4 only one was removed from my inventory meaning i smuggled a lancer into chapter 4 who will only ask me to release him and never say anything else, creepypasta situation rofl
